We have three new teachers joining us at Ellis High School this year.

New to the district is Mr Escudero, Mr. Fox and Mr. Schoenthaler.

Daniel Escudero is our new Spanish teacher that we share with Victoria. Daniel will be spending mornings in Victoria and his afternoons in Ellis. Daniel will assume the duties of teaching Spanish I and II. Daniel looks forward to the school year and joining the Railer team.

Kyle is a native of Ellis returning home to the Railer community. He attended Fort Hays State University and received his B.S. in Business & Secondary Education.

Kyle began his teaching and coaching career at Palco High School where he spent his first two years. He then moved on to Stockton and was there for the past three years teaching and coaching.

Kyle is the 7-12 grade business & computer apps teacher along with assistant coach for HS boys basketball and track.

Derek is also an Ellis native returning home to the Railer community. Derek began his teaching and coaching career in the Wichita area (Maize). He has spent the last six years as the Activities Director in Ellinwood, KS. It was there he met his wife, Lyndsae. The two will be accompanied by their three children: Josey (8), Canon (4), and Luke (1).

Derek is a 2004 graduate of Kansas State University, a 2006 and 2008 graduate of Wichita State University, and will complete his next program this spring from Fort Hays State University.

Derek brings experience and perspective to the Activities Director position. He has spent time as a student-athlete, coach, teacher, official, and administrator at various age divisions ranging from the youth to collegiate levels. Derek will also be managing the work-study program and supervising the online college courses for EHS. Derek and his family are excited to begin this new chapter of their lives in a place he's been bless to call home for close to 40 years.
