EJH Volleyball Off to Oakley

The Junior High Lady Railers traveled to Oakley this past Thursday to take on the Plainsmen. The evening started out with the B team competing in 3 very close sets, unfortunately they came up short in the end. Set scores were 23-25, 25-21, and 13-15. Leading in the serving was Jadyn Starns with 15 good serves and 4 aces. Leading in spiking was Brealyn Born with 4 kills. The best passer for the night was Emily James with 15 good passes and 3 digs. Next the C-team took the floor. They dropped the 1st set 19-25, but came back to win both the 2nd and 3rd set to win the match. The score in the final 2 sets was 25-18 and 25-19. The best server was Macy Eberle with 15 good serves and 5 aces. Leading passes was Macy Eberle with 18 and Jennifer Cunningham with 17. The girls played hard and played well together even with a couple girls struggling with serves this match. The night ended with A team taking the floor. They started off slowly during the 1st set and lost 16-25. During the 2nd set they played much better, but made several hitting errors and lost a close one 23-25. Leading serving was Myah McCoy with 5 good serves and 1 ace and Natalie Schumacher with 4 good serves and 2 aces. Leading passer was Hannah Schiel with 9 and Myah McCoy had 9 good sets. We had 14 hitting errors during the match, with 9 missed serves, that’s 23 points in just our errors, it is hard to recover from that. This week we are on the road again to take on the Phillipsburg Panthers. Matches start at 4:30.
