Junior High Volleyball at Philipsburg

Thursday September 13th, the Ellis Junior High Railer Volleyball team traveled to Phillipsburg to take on the Panthers.  The evening started with the B team squad taking down the Panthers 25-22 and 25-19.  Leading in serves was Kaydawn Haag with 2 ace serves and 10 good serves.  Leading spiker was Brealyn Born with 2 kills and 6 good spikes.  Leading passer was Kaydawn Haag with 14 good passes and 5 digs.  The girls never gave up and found a way to win in the end.  Next up was the C-team and they continue their winning streak and move to 3-0 on the season, winning 25-22 and 25-19.  Leading server was Carli Fischer with 5 aces and 5 good serves.  Leading passer was Ava Reed with 10 good passes, right behind her was Sydney Redetzke and Macy Eberle with 9 good passes apiece.  The C team squad had to fight back to win the first set and did a great job of not getting discouraged when they were behind.  Rounding out the night the A team took the floor to try and sweep the Panthers on their home court.  They fought hard and took the 1st set from the Panthers before dropping the next 2, even though they lost the girls showed improvement from last week’s lost to Oakley.  Their spiking was much improved and so was their serving.  Leading in serves was Hannah Schiel with 7 good serves and Trinity Kohlrus with 3 Aces and 4 good serves.  Leading spiker was Emily Eck with 5 kills and 5 good hits.  Leading setter was Kylee Pfeifer with 14 sets.  Leading passer was Natalie Schumacher with 11 good passes and 2 digs.  After the 1st set the girls, just couldn’t get back into a groove. Set scores were 26-24, 14-25, and 4-15.  The Junior High Railer Volleyball is off for 2 weeks, their next matches are September 27th in Smith Center against the Redmen.
