JH Records Fall at Ellis

The eighth grade girls came out competing strong once again at the Ellis Invitational last Friday. The nice warm day made it just right for breaking records. Eighth grader, Lexi Amrein, broke the triple jump record jumping 34’2”. The previous 2014 record of 32’11.5” was held by Abby Burton.  The 4x100 and 4X200 relay teams both broke the school record along with the 4x400 improving their record time. Chaselyn Jimenez improved her 100 hurdle record time to 17.55.

The seventh grade team is competing well. Leading their team was Haley Schmidt earning medals in the 100 M. hurdles, triple jump & 4x100 relay along with teammate, Lakyn Fischer, earning medals in the 100 M, javelin, shot and 4x100 relay.
Coach Edmonds stated, “The girls are peaking and all performing their personal best in runs, jumps and throws.  We need to carry this through to our league meet next week at Smith Center. It was great seeing the stands full of supporters last week in Ellis!”
