EJH Girls Visit Trego

The Ellis Jr. High school girls basketball team played the Trego Eagles on 11-8-18.  The game was very intense throughout.  The Railers led at the half 14 to 10.  Ellis continued to lead at the end of the third quarter 20 to 14.  Ellis only added four points to the score compared to Trego adding 10 in the fourth quarter which led to a tie at the end of regulation play sending the game into overtime.  During overtime, the scores went back and forth throughout with Trego sinking a 3-pointer.  Emily Eck was fouled on a shot at the buzzer with the score Trego 33 to Ellis 31.  Eck made one of her free-throws but was not enough to overcome the deficit that occurred before the buzzer went off.  Ellis lost by one in overtime 33 to 32.

Leading scorer for Ellis was Eck with 17 points, five of those being free-throws.  Kylee Pfeifer had seven points followed by Hannah Schiel with six.  MaKenna Kohl and Harlie Bittel each had one point.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Kohl with nine boards, Schumacher followed with seven.  Eck, Myah McCoy, Pfeifer and Schiel each had one.

In the junior varsity contest, Ellis lost to Trego 16 to nine.  Leading scorer for Ellis was Macy Eberle with five points.  Kawdawn Haag and Trinity Kholrus each had two.  Leading rebounder for Ellis was Emily James with seven followed by Braelyn Born and Kohlrus with four.  McCoy contributed three rebounds and Jennifer Cunningham and Eberle each had two. 

In the C-game, Ellis lost to Trego 21 to 7.  Born had three points followed by Anny Moore and Kohlrus each with two.  Leading rebounder was Born with four boards.  Chelsea Herrington, Kohlrus and Moore each had three followed by Sydney Redetzke with two.
