Jr. High Takes on Plainville

Ellis Jr. High girls basketball started off their season with a win against Plainville on Nov. 5th. Ellis won the contest 35 to 7. Ellis girls led 10 to 2 after the 1st quarter and went into the half only allowing two more points for Plainville. Score at the half was Ellis 21, Plainville 4. Ellis went on to building upon their score while allowing few points for Plainville. Coach Butler was able to get everybody in on the contest.

Leading scorer for Ellis was Isabella Eck with 20 points, Natalee North had 13 and Addison Kohl had two. Leading rebounder for Ellis was North with 12 followed by Brooke Starns with 9. Eck contributed three boards, Raegan Jimenez and Alyssa Rome each had two and Kohl and Avery Boydston added one each.

In the J.V. contest, Ellis came up a bit short losing to Plainville 10 to 6. Only two quarters were able to be played due to low numbers with Plainville. The score was tied after the first quarter played, at four each. Plainville was able to score three baskets to Ellis’ one to finish up with the win.

Leading scorer for Ellis was Boydston with four followed by Jimenz with two. Leading rebounder was Jimenez with four, Boydston had three, Kaycee Cranwell had two and Kia Mader had one.

Plainville was not able to have a C-game. Ellis chose to have an inter-squad scrimmage. Scorers for the scrimmage was Sienna Schmidt with eight points, Gracelyn Hamel had six, Payten Burd and Leah Reed each had four, Mader had three and Gracie Ball had two.

Ellis is scheduled to play at Trego on Nov. 10th and play at home against Oakley on Nov. 12th.
