Ellis Competes Well at Hill City

It has been great seeing this team improve throughout the short season.  In our first tournament at Goodland we shot 424 as a team, tonight at Hill City we shot 367 which is 57 shots better.  That’s amazing!  I realize that Hill City plays a little easier than Goodland but still that’s an average of over 14 shots per player.  367 is our best team score of the season but the best news is we are not finished.  We go to Phillipsburg on Monday where we have traditionally played well and play in the MCL tournament on Thursday at Fort Hays.  Then of course Regionals and State.  I am proud of how these guys have worked hard as a team and especially on their short game where a lot of shots can be saved.  It is starting to pay off and I am confident that this still is not our best but our best is yet to come.  Individually Chase was a little off but still squeaked out a medal in 15th place.  Tabasco was so close to getting his first medal and only missed it by one shot.  Zach continues to break 100 and it won’t be long before he is breaking into the 80’s.  Cade had an off night.  He had a decent front but his shoulder was bothering him on the back and if effected his score.  Holden continues to improve as well and turned in one of his better rounds tonight.  We’ll keep working and do our best to correct a few things as we prepare for the post season.
