Railers Start Districts Strong

On Friday, October 5th, the EHS football team hosted the Oakley Plainsmen, for the first game of districts. Ellis was able to pin Oakley deep, with an excellent kick from senior, Talon Torline, to start the game. The Railer defense stopped the Plainsmen, forcing them to punt, and thus, giving Ellis excellent field position. The Railers were then able to find the end zone, on a 4 yard run from senior, Cade Lewis. The game stayed close throughout the first half, with a score of 14-13. The 3rd quarter was slow, with neither team finding the end zone. The Railer's found the end zone early in the 4th quarter, to put them up, 20-13. With little time remaining, the Oakley offense was driving down the field, looking to put the game into overtime, when freshman, Tyson Jiminez, intercepted a pass and ran it all the way back for a touchdown, sealing the game with an Ellis victory, 26-13.
