Railers Lose District Opener

On Friday, October 13th, the Ellis Railers traveled to LaCrosse to take on the LaCrosse Leopards in the first game of Districts. The Leopards started off the game strong scoring 13 points in the 1st quarter. The Railers' defense fought hard not letting the Leopards score any points in the second quarter, leaving the score at the end of the first half 13-0, Leopards. The Railers came out after half time ready to battle against the Leopards. Joseph Eck scored a touchdown for the Railers at the end of the 3rd quarter, leaving the score 13-6, Leopards. In the 4th quarter the Leopards scored one final touchdown finishing out the game with a score of 19-6, Leopards. The Railers had a total of 54 carries for a total of 176 yards. The Railer defense proved to be strong as they had three red zone stops. The top leading tackles were made by Joseph Eck and Ryan Herl with eight tackles each. Good luck to the Railers as they host the second game of Districts against the Plainville Cardinals on Friday, October 20th.
