Ellis Softball Fights Against Ellinwood

On Monday, May 8th, Ellis Softball traveled to Ellinwood to play their last two regular season games. Brittany Bollig was unable to pitch due to an injury, but will be returning in full health for regional games.

The first game was hard fought, Ellis losing to the Eagles 1-2 in the 9th inning. The Railers played excellent defense, holding the Eages until they scored to walk of the game.

The second game was lost 1-11 in the 5th. Ellis had to bring in their young pitchers, costing many runs by walks and hit by pitches.

Some postive highlights!:

Samantha Crawford led the team in bats, going 2 for 5, a .400 average. Crawford also scored both runs of the night and performed well in centerfield with a double play (caught ball thrown to home). Brittany Bollig was able to come in and pitch hit to drive in Crawford for a run. Natalie Schoenberger pitched very well in the first game, striking out 7 batters and only allowing them to earn one run. August Sinclair returned to the field and played an excellent game at first base.

The Railers are seated number two in their regionals with an 8-8 record. Regionals will be played at Brookville/Ell-Saline. Driving directions are placed here!

Be sure to come out, support our team, and cheer us on to STATE!!
