Softball Opens Season Against Ellinwood

On Friday, April 7th, EHS Softball finally opened their season after a series of rain delays against the Ellinwood Eagles. The team had been practicing for multiple weeks, and they pulled out their first win against Ellinwood in over four years.

The first game final score was 11-7, with Ellis on top. Brittany Bollig was the starting pitcher and finished the game with a win with 10 strike-outs and only 3 walks.

The second final game score was 2-5, with Ellinwood taking the win. Bollig also started pitching this game, but Natalie Schoenberger came in for relief during the bottom of the fifth inning.

Samantha Crawford led the team in bats going 3 for 5, an average of .600. Lexie Rome followed up going 2 for 4, an average of .500. Crawford also leads in steals with 5, and Rome and Lindsay Augustine tie for second with 4 each. To see the rest of the stats, be sure to check out the EHS softball page!

The Softball Team's next game is April 11th, at TMP. Games start at 4:00 P.M.
