EHS Journalism Competes at State

On Saturday, May 5th, the Ellis High School Journalism team traveled to Lawrence, Kansas to compete in the annual 2018 State Contest by the Kansas Scholastic Press Association. In order to compete in the state contest, the students had to compete in the Regional contest which was in February. There were 82 schools and 21 categories in 3 classifications at the contest. The following placed at the contest: Kyrsten Frickey- Copy Editing: Honorable Mention, Ali Weber- Cutline Writing: 3rd place, Lauryn Becker- Editorial Cartoon: 3rd place, Dawson Sproul- Online Photo Gallery: 3rd place, Breonna North- Sports Photography: 3rd place, Kyrsten Frickey and Sierra Schmidt- Yearbook Theme and Graphics: Honorable Mention, and Dawson Sproul- Headline Writing and Design: Honorable Mention. Congrats to all who placed and competed at the state journalism contest!
