JH 4x200 Record Falls at Ellis

The junior high girls track teams came out competing strong once again at the Ellis Invitational last Friday. The teams were ready for a nice warm track day after the previous weeks at Trego and Plainville.

The seventh grade team took first place scoring 180 pts. Other team scores were P-Ville 90, TMP 66, Oakley 66, Trego 39 and Hays JV 28 points. The team’s 4x200 relay, consisting of Myah McCoy, Makenna Kohl, Hannah Schiel and Haley Cranwell, broke the school record with their time of 2:04.70. The previous 2016 record of 2:04.75 was held by T. Cuccia, M. Keller, M. Kohl and E. Miller. To see a full list of results click here.

The eighth grade team placed third in their division with 71 points. Leading their team was Haley Schmidt scoring 21.5 points and Lakyn Fischer with 23.5 points. To see a full list of results click here.

A total of twenty-one personal records were recorded by the seventh and eighth grade teams. The girls are peaking and all performing their personal best in runs, jumps and throws. We need to carry this through to our league meet next week at Phillipsburg. It was great seeing the stands full of supporters last week in Ellis!
