EHS Basketball Defeats Smith Center

On Friday, January 8, EHS girls basketball started off the new year with a win. This game was very important, with both teams only having one loss. In the first quarter Smith Center took the lead early on, despite both Ellis and Smith Center with girls picking up fouls in the first few minutes. By the end of the first half, the Railers had the lead, 29-24, with two big three's coming from Lakyn Fischer to put the Railers on top. Coming out of halftime, the Railers extended their lead, but let the Redmen catch up, with the end of the third quarter score being 39-37. An intense fourth quarter followed, with Hannah Schiel hitting shots to keep the Railers ahead. The Railers won the game with a final score of 52-50.

In the boys' varsity game, both teams started kind of slow, but pulled ahead in the second half. The Railers won 67-50, being undefeated on the season.

The Railer basketball team will travel to TMP on Friday, January 15 to take on the Monarchs.
