The Lady Railers in the MCL Tournament

On Saturday, January 13, the Lady Railer basketball team traveled to Stockton to play in a feather bracket game against Philipsburg to get into the MCL tournament. They came into the tournament with a 5-4 record, ranked at 7th. The game started out great with the Railers coming out and scoring back-to-back two pointers right away. The first quarter ended with a score of 18-2. The Railers then finished the half with a score of 28-12. The Panthers weren't going to give up that easy, though, and came back during both the third and fourth quarters. It came down to the last three minutes of the game and the score was tied. Each team would come down and score and then the other team would follow. With about one minute to go, Kaylyn Foster hit a two to put the Railers in the lead. Philipsburg wasn't done and went down and scored one last time, once again tying the game. The Railers got the ball, and Foster shot it and missed. Natalie Schoenberger got the rebound and was fouled on the put-back, but the shot went in, putting the Railers two points ahead. With approximately 10 seconds left, the Panthers would not score to tie or take the lead. The Lady Railers pulled out the win! The Railers' next MCL Tournament game will be on Tuesday, January 16 at TMP (Hays) at 6:00 pm. Come out and support your Lady Railers!
