ELLIS HIGH SCHOOL

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Welcome to Ellis Junior/Senior High School, the home of the Railroaders.  Currently, we are a 7-12 building which houses 224 students along with 28 staff members.  We are located in Ellis, Kansas, which is 15 miles west of Hays.  Our goal is to help our students prepare for success through the collaborative efforts of school, home and community.  We have a talented and committed staff, which wants to ensure that every student is successful in their school experience.  We continue to work on building strong partnerships with our parents and community, and we commend them for their support of our school family.

The faculty and staff at Ellis Junior/Senior High School is committed to excellence.  We are committed to promoting a learning community, one in which not only students, but teachers, administrators, support staff, and parents continue to learn and promote excellence.  Our belief is that high expectations produce high results and we make a daily effort to provide an environment that produces student learning.

We all know that the most important members of our educational team are our students.  Our students are ultimately responsible for their success.  Their responsibility begins with good attendance, moves to class participation and preparation, and includes making quality decisions about their lives.  We encourage and emphasize that our students claim their education as their own and use it as a tool to achieve their goals and dreams.

Each year brings many achievements and challenges to all involved in the Ellis school community.  We celebrate the achievements and welcome the challenges as an opportunity to better ourselves and succeed.  Feel free to visit us and witness the talents of the people who make Ellis Junior/Senior High School a great place to be.
